Festi-Fall

FestiFall is our annual autumn celebration at Douglas Park, held each late October for more than 20 years. This free neighborhood event offers activities for all ages, including a pet parade with costumes and prizes, pumpkin and rock painting, a bouncy house, playground fun, spooky face painting, live music, grilled hotdogs and bratwurst, bottled water, and locally brewed beer for adults. It’s a great opportunity to meet neighbors, learn about the Douglas-Edgemere volunteer board, and enjoy a festive start to the fall season.

Spring Fling

Spring Fling takes place in March or April and serves as a neighborhood-wide volunteer day to refresh the park and surrounding flower beds. Neighbors help trim shrubs and small trees, plant bulbs, and clean up flowerbeds around the gazebo and playground. We partner with the City of OKC Parks Department to support ongoing improvements. Douglas Park remains the centerpiece of our neighborhood, and this event helps keep it thriving.

First Saturday Walk

First Saturday Walks are held on the first Saturday of each month at 10 AM. Neighbors are invited to meet at the corner of NW 45th and Lee by the playground for a casual community walk. It’s a friendly, low-key way to meet new people and enjoy the neighborhood. Participants are welcome to bring dogs, baby strollers, kids, and grandkids (including small balance bikes). On warm days, sunscreen and water are recommended. It’s an easy, enjoyable way to build community connections.

Children and adults gathered outdoors around a table with food, balloons, and drinks, on a concrete patio with a tree and a fence in the background.

Flag Day

Flag Day is observed on the evening of June 14 to commemorate the adoption of the American flag by the Second Continental Congress in 1777. Communities across the country celebrate this day to honor freedom, unity, and national pride, as well as the sacrifices of those who have served. In Douglas-Edgemere, we decorate with flags and gather for a relaxed ice cream social, giving neighbors a chance to connect and stay informed about what’s happening throughout the neighborhood.
